Rare and Antique Books
Introduction
The Library of The Centre is the fruit of years of research and cataloguing aimed at assembling a highly specialised reference collection based on the underlying scope of The Centre as set forth in its instituting law.
6,000 volumes constitute the extensive collection so far acquired, also thanks to the many exchange initiatives conducted with other libraries.
Special attention is paid to research in Italy and abroad, and also to the cataloguing of rare and antique books, especially works on military architecture by military architects and engineers from the 16th century onwards, along with monographs on the history of Turin and Piedmont in the 18th century.
The Library, forming part of the Italian National Library Service (SBN), has been opened to the public since December 2001.
